Bochum & the Ruhr Area

Bochum is a city with more than 360,000 inhabitants, situated in the middle of the Ruhr area, the largest urban agglomeration in Europe. The area lies close to the river Rhine in the west of Germany and the Dutch border. Dortmund, Düsseldorf, and Cologne are nearby. Bochum is well connected by railway and the Autobahn network to all destinations in Germany and Central Europe. Influenced by a working tradition of mining and industrial factories, Bochum today is a friendly, open-minded and green place, with a high degree of cultural diversity.
